  • From the students:

    • “Kids are able to get outside their comfort zone and don’t have to worry about speaking in front of 100, 200 or however many other people are in the class.”
    • “It helps get students incorporated into the class…”
    • “Trying to pipe up and be heard can be intimidating, but here all you have to do is type it up or send it from your phone and your opinion is up there for everyone to read.”
    • “It’s a pretty good study to look back at what was most important that week…”
    • “This allows a lot of information to be sent in quickly.”

    From the professor:

    • “140 characters does limit the comments they can make… but on the other hand, … keeping them limited to 140 characters forces students to get at the absolute central point.”
    • “While away in Santa Fe, I could log into the Twitter conversation and follow the class discussion from another state.”
    • “It’s going to be messy… but messy doesn’t mean it’s going to be bad.”

    ‘Nuff said I guess.
